Ideal for rim repair!
The curb damage is too deep or an edge needs to be reshaped. Here's the perfect kit for powder coaters. The kit is heat-resistant up to 250 degrees Celsius, and we recommend finishing the rims or components until just before tempering. You should apply the kit here, then it is baked in the powder oven and hardens. Shortly afterward, you can work on the area with an orbital sander, for example, and make it look flawless again.
Then apply the powder coating ideally as a first layer of epoxy resin, if necessary check the area again after baking and apply base coat.
Even a 3-layer process of epoxy resin, polyester resin and clear varnish didn't cause us any problems with this kit.
We recommend using a polyester resin clear coat in combination with the kit instead of a PU clear coat.
The application is straightforward:
- Thoroughly clean the surface of old paint, varnish, dirt and grease.
- Roughen the surface slightly to help the kit adhere better.
- Simply squeeze the kit out of the tube, cut off the required amount and knead it by hand until it is even.
- Apply the kit to the damaged areas and remove any excess material.
- Curing begins after approximately 15 minutes and is fully completed within 24 hours. We recommend annealing the component in a powder oven after application to accelerate the curing time.
- Check the area and make adjustments if necessary.
- Apply one coat of epoxy resin and a second coat of your desired color. If necessary, you can lightly sand the first coat (of epoxy resin) after application.
This will help you achieve optimal results for repairs and coatings.
